Youth in vulnerable neighbourhoods need your help. 

Does your organization have laptops that are no longer in use? Greenwin Cares. and our partners at Toronto Police Service’s 31 Division will refurbish and donate them to kids facing a lack of resources and access to the necessary technology to learn and socialize online.

SickKids confirms that children & youth experienced worsening mental health during the initial COVID-19 lockdowns. This has stayed consistent throughout the pandemic. This wave will undoubtedly exacerbate these findings.

Information for donors: data protection 

Pre-used donated laptops will be professionally refurbished and restored by our approved third party refurbisher. For your comfort, you have options to ensure data security and protection:

Our certified refurbisher will permanently erase all data on file using a hard drive wiping machine. 2

Our certified refurbisher will destroy and dispose of your hard drives and install new ones.

Remove your hard drives on your own prior to donating and our certified refurbisher will install new ones. 

  1. Laptop donations valued over $1,000 will receive a tax receipt.
  2. This external USB 3.0 sanitizer dock supports nine industry-recognized erase modes including Quick Erase, Single and Multi-pass Overwrites, Custom Erase, Secure Erase and Enhanced Secure Erase. The Multi-pass Overwrite (3-Pass Full Disk Overwrite) erase procedures meet the requirements of DoD (5220.22-M) standards.
